Fitting an additional oil cooler to an engine helps to prolong engine life and reliability by maintaining optimal oil operating temperature. To ensure the oil doesn’t lose its lubricating properties, it needs to be kept under 145 degrees C.
This kit is supplied with 4-metres of AN-10 black nylon braided hose. We prefer this to the stainless braided hose because it’s easier to work with and does less damage if it rubs against anything on the vehicle. This is supplied with a 25-row cooler which is 25cm x 19.5cm x 5cm in dimensions. The 25 row is the largest cooler we have and is great for highly modified vehicles which require lots of additional cooling. If you want to upgrade further, we also have shrouds with fans to force the air through the cooler, these can be especially good for drift cars.A thermostatic relocation oil cooler kit will allow the engine to reach the optimal operating temperature in around the same time as an engine without the cooler but then regulates the oil temperature with the thermostatic valve built in. It also allows the oil filter to be relocated into a more convenient position for easy oil changes.
Just as overheated oil is detrimental to engine longevity, cold oil presents its own problems to an engine. Over-cooled oil will be thicker which causes components to wear faster among other issues.
On the plate that the filter mounts to are 2 x 1/8 NPT ports which can be used for turbo oil feeds or gauge sensors if required. There are 8 AN-10 fittings with this kit. 2 x Straight, 2 x 45 Degree, 4 x 90 Degree, they are all the stronger forged type fittings and are anodized black.
These kits are ideal for road cars where the engine will often be used at a very low load situation for a long period, for example on a motorway when you want to avoid over cooling the oil. But the cooler is always there for high load situations, such as occasional track days or if the vehicle is used for towing.This kit is supplied with a HKS oil filter. HKS are a long-established Japanese tuner who’s work, and product quality are excellent. This HKS filter features a magnet inside to help catch any metal particles in the oil and an anti-drainback valve. Coupled with advanced high flow filtration there probably isn’t a better filter on the market.This kit fits the Subaru EXIGA CROSSOVER 7 YAM FB25 with years 15/04->.These kits are not supplied with the mounting hardware to attach them to the vehicle.
