Toyota MR-S 1ZZ-FE Thermostatic 16 Row Oil Cooler Kit w. Brackets, 99/10->07/07

This is a direct fit cooler supplied with the brackets that are specific to the car. Images show the location of the cooler once fitted.

Fitting an additional oil cooler to an engine helps to prolong engine life and reliability by maintaining optimal oil operating temperature. To ensure the oil doesn’t lose its lubricating properties, it needs to be kept under 145 degrees C.

This kit is supplied with 4-metres of AN-10 black nylon braided hose and a thermostatic plate which allows the engine oil to warm up more quickly and only diverts oil through the cooler when required. The thermostat also helps prevent overcooling the oil during the winter in colder climates.

We prefer this to the stainless braided hose because it’s easier to work with and does less damage if it rubs against anything on the vehicle.

This is supplied with a 16-row cooler which is 25cm x 12.5cm x 5cm in dimensions. The 16 row is a nice cooler for smaller vehicles and engines where the engine isn’t going to be working too hard and there is restricted space to fit the cooler. If you want to upgrade, see our other listings where you will find larger cooler options and also shrouds with fans to force the air through the cooler.Supplied with this is a sandwich plate that fits under the oil filter on the engine. This diverts the oil through the cooler and spaces the filter around 20mm further out, so check that you have clearance here. On the sandwich plate are 2 x 1/8 NPT ports which can be used for turbo oil feeds or gauge sensors if required.

There are 6 x AN-10 fittings with this kit. 2 x Straight, 2 x 45 Degree, 2 x 90 Degree, they are all the stronger forged type fittings and are anodized black.

You will only require 4 of the 6 fittings, choose the ones that work best for you.
