Toyota MR2 3S-GTE 25-Row Oil Cooler Thermostatic Kit with HKS Oil Filter

The Toyota MR2 3S-GTE is a mid-engined application where available space, airflow and hose routing all need to be considered when adding an external oil cooler. A vehicle-specific 25-row thermostatic oil-cooler kit with HKS filter for Toyota MR2 3S-GTE models built from October 1989 to September 1999. It combines a black SKADI AN-10 cooler, cut-to-length hose and the fittings and oil-filter hardware listed in the confirmed BOM. Cooler mounting brackets are not included.

Key features

Application-specific kit for Toyota MR2 3S-GTE, 89/10 to 99/09

25-row black SKADI AN-10 oil cooler

4m nylon-braided AN-10 hose with blue fleck

Thermostatic oil control to reduce unnecessary cooling during warm-up

Oil-filter sandwich plate connection

HKS oil filter included

Cooler mounting brackets not included

Design details

The system uses a black 25-row aluminium cooler, SKADI AN-10 nylon-braided hose and a selection of straight, 45-degree and 90-degree fittings for flexible routing. The sandwich plate takes the oil feed and return from the engine's oil-filter mounting point. Thermostatic control helps the oil reach operating temperature before directing full cooling flow through the core. As an SKO-3 kit, it does not include the vehicle-specific brackets needed to mount the cooler to the car.

On the car

The 25-row core adds dedicated heat-exchanger area for hard road, track and drift use, while the thermostatic arrangement helps avoid unnecessary cooling during warm-up and lower-load driving.

Fitment notes

Listed for Toyota MR2 models with the 3S-GTE engine, production dates 89/10 to 99/09. The 4m hose is cut to suit the chosen cooler location. SKO-3 kits do not include the brackets required to mount the cooler to the car; select a suitable airflow position and fabricate or source secure mounting brackets. The recorded filter thread is 3/4-16 UNF. Thread compatibility alone does not confirm fitment: check the sealing-face diameter, centre-spigot engagement, filter clearance and surrounding installation space.

Important: Check clearance around the oil-filter connection, fittings and hose routes before installation. Keep hoses clear of exhaust heat and moving parts, pressure-test the completed circuit and confirm oil pressure with no leaks before driving. Mount the cooler securely and check clearance to bodywork, airflow paths and surrounding components before use.

A complete 25-row thermostatic oil-cooler kit with HKS filter for the Toyota MR2 3S-GTE, supplied with the exact components listed above. Cooler mounting brackets are not included.

What's in the box?

1 × HKS oil filter (52009-AK010)

1 × SKADI 4m AN-10 nylon braided hose with blue fleck (SKO-001)

2 × SKADI 45-degree AN-10 fittings (SKO-007)

2 × SKADI straight AN-10 fittings (SKO-006)

2 × SKADI 90-degree AN-10 fittings (SKO-008)

1 × SKADI 25-row AN-10 oil cooler (SKO-005)

1 × SKADI thermostatic oil-filter sandwich plate (SKO-017)
